Local Workshops

We want debating to be accessible to every school – even those without prior experience. To make this possible we start every league or tournament with an orientation session.

We’ll cover the basics you’ll need to start your debate club and participate in tournaments.

Leagues

Mastering a skill takes time and practice. The best way to gain experience is through a series of local regularly scheduled tournaments – or a “league”.

Each of our debate leagues meet several times a year for multiple rounds of competition. At the end of each season, we recognize our top speakers and teams with medals, trophies, and certificates.

Regional Tours

Debate is a great way to learn about the world and bring communities together. We run a series of debate tours within South Africa and in other African nations. A typical tour involves 2 competition days and 5 rounds of debate.

National and International Championships

We want our best debaters to have somewhere to truly stretch their abilities. In 2024 we will launch national level championships for primary and high schools. Our Pan-African Debating Championship brings together high schools from a variety of African nations.
