2024 Junior Pan-African Debating Championship
The National Debating League runs structured debate programs for over 100 schools across South Africa and Mozambique. Join us for the 'Junior' edition of our Pan-African Debating Championship. Entry is open to students in Grades 4 to 7 from schools anywhere in Africa.

- Grades 4 to 7 or age 10 to 14; teams must be accompanied by an educator.

Program Overview
Here is a brief overview of the program. A more detailed explanation can be found in the information booklet.
Optional Accommodation Packages
We are able to arrange accomodation for participants at the StayEasy hotel in Century City. This hotel is a short walk from the hosting school.
Competitive Debates
We will have 5 rounds of competitive debates and several elimination rounds. Students will need to be familiar with the World School Style of debate. Two of our motions have already been released.
Sightseeing
We are able to arrange an optional sightseeing package for participants.
Awards and Recognition
A series of elimination rounds will determine our winners in each age division. Top performing teams and individuals may receive trophies and medals.

- Research shows that education in the mother tongue is a key factor for inclusion and quality learning, and it also improves learning outcomes and academic performance. This is crucial, especially in primary school to avoid knowledge gaps and increase the speed of learning and comprehension.
